Stone Hollow Farmstead – Peach Preserves and Syrup
On their 80-acre Stone Hollow Farmstead in Shelby County, Deborah Stone and her daughter, Alexandra Stone Flowers, grow flowers and produce a variety of artisanal products, including drinking and cooking vinegars, pickles, relishes, jellies, preserves, and pie fillings.
Their peach preserves and peach lemon verbena syrup are standouts. The preserves are made with just peaches, sugar, and lemon, resulting in a soft texture that is perfect for spooning into yogurt or over ice cream.
In June, they will release a limited-edition “Fairytale” peach preserves with a touch of whiskey. The lemon verbena in the peach syrup adds a delightful herbaceous note to the lemony flavor, making it ideal for crafting delicious mocktails.

When Irma Robinson created her variation of a family recipe for butter cookies, known as “secrets,” friends David and Beverlye Brady Brooks convinced her to make them available through their Auburn-based company, Mama’s Secrets.
The cookie dough, which includes finely chopped pecans, is rolled into one-inch balls, baked, and then coated in powdered sugar. The original, lemon, and chocolate flavors are all equally delicious, making it difficult to choose a favorite.
