Recipe For Waffles

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 ¾ cups milk (you can use 2% or whole milk for this recipe)
  • ½ cup melted butter (unsalted or salted, depending on your preference)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes around 5 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the flour, milk, and vegetable oil to the eggs and mix until just combined.
  4. Whisk in the sugar, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth. Be careful not to overmix the batter, a few small lumps are okay.
  5. Lightly spray your preheated waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray.
  6. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the hot waffle iron, spreading it out evenly if needed. Close the lid and cook the waffle for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. The cooking time may vary depending on your waffle iron, so keep an eye on it.
  7. Once cooked, carefully remove the waffle from the iron and place it on a plate. Repeat steps 5-7 with the remaining batter.
  8. Serve your waffles immediately with your favorite toppings! Here are some ideas:
    • Butter and maple syrup
    • Fresh fruit and whipped cream
    • Chocolate chips and peanut butter
    • Fried chicken and hot sauce (savory waffle option)

Tips:

  • For waffles with extra crispy exteriors and fluffy insides, let the batter rest for 15-30 minutes before cooking.
  • You can also make the batter ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
  • Don’t overfill your waffle iron – this will result in messy overflow.

Enjoy your delicious homemade waffles!
